B2B doom-mongers feel industry backlash

In the name of all that is good, please stop with the pessimism...

NEWS Fed up with the predictions of failure that have plagued the B2B industry of late, Aberdeen Research is leading the charge to prove e-procurement can be all it's cracked up to be. The company claims industry forecasters who got it wrong with their predictions of growth for the B2B industry have now charged to the other end of the spectrum and turned in damning reports on the future of e-procurement. By concentrating on the transaction element of the process, Aberdeen researchers claim industry watchers have ignored process improvements and cost benefits. Aberdeen is standing by its predictions that a mid-sized company can save $2m a year by using e-procurement technologies. The company added that such technologies have also helped certain companies achieve a 73 per cent reduction in transaction costs and up to a 80 per cent reduction in purchase order cycles.
