NEWS Internet behemoth AOL Time Warner has poached one of Commerce One's top executives to head its global strategy. Robert Kimmitt, currently vice chairman and president of B2B software leader Commerce One, has also spent time as an adviser to President Bush (senior) and as MD of Lehman Brothers. Now Kimmit will join AOL as vice president for global and strategic policy. AOL Chairman Steve Case said in a statement that Kimmitt would be useful for AOL's European expansion. Commerce One has responded to the loss by promoting its existing COO Dennis Jones to president. Jones has only been at Commerce One since April, when he joined from distribution company Fed Ex Corporation. For related news, see
