Verizon chances its arm in the ASP sector

Think 'ASP', think 'troubled' and 'unprofitable'. But Verizon doesn't seem to care...

NEWS US telecoms group Verizon is to enter the troubled ASP market with a network management product, following customer demand for hosted services. The programs will allow companies to outsource management and maintenance of networks and internet infrastructure, including routers, hubs and switches. Verizon says its customers claim to spend up to 50 per cent of their time troubleshooting network problems. The SiteWatch will monitor long-term performance, while the FrameWatch offering will cover day-to-day operations.
