Staff turnover crisis costs call centres £1bn

Sweatshop mentality doesn't pay...

NEWS Astonishingly high staff turnover at call centres is costing business £1.1bn per year. According to a report from consultancy Blue Sky, telecoms companies and retailers lose one in three staff every year, damaging customer service and their company's brand in the process. Staff turnover at the UK's 10,500 call centres has been growing at four per cent per year, and is now way above the national employment average. Blue Sky claims companies are too accepting of high attrition rates, and need to put more emphasis and investment into training and promotional opportunities.
