Expedia.com goes B2B

Online holiday site becomes broker for travel agents...

NEWS Expedia.com has launched the worldwide travel exchange (WWTE), a private booking operation that will provide wholesale travel services. In a move to expand its business with other travel suppliers, Expedia's WWTE will offer travel suppliers hotel and car rentals, with negotiated and published rate inventory. A company statement said the service would add Expedia travel packages in the future. American Airlines is the first and only WWTE customer to date. The US-based airline company will use WWTE to offer hotel and car booking services to its website customers.
