US crisis: Red Cross runs online relief centre

Families post information on site for missing loved-ones...

NEWS The American Red Cross has set up an online relief centre to offer help and advice to those affected by last week's terrorist attack in the US. The Family Registration Web is accessible from the Red Cross website and enables families to search and post information on missing persons. Microsoft helped the organisation develop the network and uses encryption to ensure only family members and Red Cross staff gain access to the information. The site also offers information for those who would like to give blood or donate money to the relief fund. For related stories, see
