Brown and Portillo go head to head in 'swine of the year'

Pig Brother reaches its closing stages...

NEWS Five million web surfers worldwide have been captivated over the past four weeks by Pig Brother - an internet sensation based on Channel 4's popular reality TV show. However, as its name suggests, Pig Brother doesn't feature real people vying for their 15 minutes of fame but rather the stars are all pigs on Somerset farmer Richard Counsell's farm. At the start of the contest each pig was given the name of a politician and each week one pig has been voted off by the public. So far Widdecombe, Blair and Beckett have taken the long walk out of their designer sty and away from the all-seeing eyes of the webcams. Now it is just Portillo and Brown left to battle it out to be crowned the world's favourite pig. For the winner there is that honour in store, for the losers there is a visit to the abattoir and the prospect of being served up between two slices of bread covered in brown sauce - but at least they'll make somebody happy.
