Commerce One slips into the red

Blame it on the downturn...

NEWS E-marketplace software provider Commerce One said it will miss its quarterly revenue targets and post a loss for its third quarter. The company predicts it will report revenues of between $80 and $83m for the three-month period ending 30 September. Analysts had previously estimated revenues of around $90m for the quarter. The company projected a per-share loss, excluding non-operating charges, in the range of 24 to 25 cents. Mark Hoffman, chairman and CEO of Commerce One, blamed turbulent market conditions for the loss.
