NEWS Struggling PDA manufacturer Palm is considering cutting staff by up to 400 workers. According to US wires, sales performance over the next two weeks - the last 14 days of the company's second financial quarter - will be crucial in its efforts to avoid layoffs. Palm has had a terrible year so far. It has already had to announce three rounds of layoffs in the last five months and has seen a slew of top executives leave. Among those to go were CEO Carl Yankowski and CTO Bill Maggs.
