Brokat staff jobless as firm folds

German software firm goes belly-up...

NEWS Employees of German ebusiness software specialist Brokat will be scanning the situations vacant after the company filed for insolvency proceedings with a court in Stuttgart. The company filed on Friday after unsuccessful attempts to shore up debts forced it to concede it will be unable to improve the situation. One sub-unit, Brokat efinance Technologies will be spun off, saving 150 jobs. The fate of the rest of Brokat's remaining workforce of 160 workers has not yet been established.
