IBM pledges $100m to Linux in India

NEWS IBM is to spend $100m on developing the Linux market in India as part of the $1bn investment it previously announced in the open source platform. According to Indian news service Business Standard, Big Blue will pump money into the nation it regards as a "key market" for the operating system. It also reported the IT giant is looking to add Indian-language support to Linux. IBM is now the biggest proponent of the open source operating system in the world, and has been central to gaining acceptance for it in increasing high-end computing environments.
