Halifax banking on web upgrade

Interwoven handed contract...

By Kate Hanaghan, 17 December 2001 11:35

NEWS Content infrastructure provider Interwoven will be providing management software to the Halifax for its web and interactive TV services. According to the Halifax, Interwoven was chosen primarily because of its ability to manage multiple projects through multiple channels at once - otherwise known as branching. Halifax staff will be able to upload information across the company's web operations including bank accounts, mortgages and loans. This will eradicate the bottleneck that occurs when third parties such as copywriters and designers add information to sites. Employees will now be able to add content without having to rely on the IT department. David Ogidi, UK managing director of Interwoven, told silicon.com: "Many companies threw-up websites in the 1990s rather than producing a rich, compelling extension of the company. Understanding is now pretty mature. Organisations want a better way of building their web presences." Ogidi wouldn't comment on the value of the contract.
