Oracle's office system takes the high road

Wireless for parkies...

NEWS Glasgow City Council has teamed up with Oracle to help make its back office system accessible for employees out on the road. Operational managers at the building services division will be able to access the Council's back-office system using a Compaq iPaq and immediately log future repair works as well as update existing files. Stewart Fallis, director of the building services department, claimed the implementation of Oracle's 9i application server will also speed up the council's procurement process and response to customer demand. The system is expected to go live in February.
