NEWS A bankrupt dot-com is in talks to buy one of New York's hottest strip clubs in the hope that lap dancing will be more lucrative than web hosting. The company, Internet Advisory Corp, said it is in talks to buy Scores, an upscale Manhattan strip club and regular celebrity haunt. The company recently emerged from Chapter 11 and according to restructuring plans filed in December, planned to stay in the SME web-hosting sector. But this week the company said it was swapping hosting for hostesses, after estimating that Scores could earn it $27m in revenue and $5m profit this year. If the deal is successful Internet Advisory Corp hopes to set up a chain of clubs across the US using the Scores name. Competition on the stock exchange should remain minimal as just one other US adult entertainment club is publicly listed.
