Siemens chief calls on UK to join euro party

NEWS Heinrich von Pierer, CEO of German tech giant Siemens, has called for Britain to join the euro. As a major inward investor in the UK, his comments will carry significant weight. Siemens employs over 17,000 people in the UK and boasts exports from the country of £317m. Most of these exports - 80 per cent - went to other countries in the eurozone and von Pierer believes dealing in a single currency would bring broad benefits.
