Porsche speeds-up deliveries with SAP

NEWS Sports car maker Porsche is hoping to speed-up its spare parts delivery mechanism throughout Europe by using supply chain management software from SAP. The planning of deliveries will be centralised using mySAP to make distribution throughout the continent quicker. Employees and partners will be able to access a virtual warehouse to find out whether a part is in stock and check its position in the supply chain. Porsche hopes that by 2004 its entire network of importers and dealers across the world will be linked up to the SAP system.
