NEWS PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) will today open the doors on Menlo Park Europe, a technology research centre designed to rival its famous Silicon Valley forebear. The opening marks a turnaround for the for the UK arm of the consultancy which was forced to cut 280 staff in September and 330 in October, blaming the losses on the economic slowdown and the lessening demand for technology experts. Not to be outdone by the grand unveiling of Hewlett-Packard's £7m Cooltown research park in Wokingham last week, PwC says it has handpicked a team of analysts to track the tech landscape and predict future trends. Bo Parker, managing director of the new London facility, said the European technology market was the most exciting in the world. "We have markets with advanced corporate adoption of technology, well-developed wireless take-up and sufficient funding for a significant growth over the next five to ten years," Parker said in a statement.
