Spooks share secrets

NEWS The CIA and FBI are joining databases to share information and intelligence as part of a government operation to guard the US from terrorists. Project implementation will be carried out by the US Office of Homeland Security (OHS) which was created in the aftermath of 11 September. The Bush administration has thrown $155m at the project to start the process this year, with a request from the OHS for a further $722m out of the next White House budget. Both federal and state security agencies will be able to access all information held on the centralised database when it is completed.
