British Standards Institute flies the e-auction kite

And it's saving money...

NEWS The British Standards Institute (BSI), owner of the Kitemark scheme, has run its first ever online auction. It claims to have achieved a 500 per cent return on its investment by using technologies from GE Global Exchange Services. So far it has used GE's GXS e-Auction twice and claims to have racked-up savings of 17 per cent on services and 13 per cent on capital equipment. The technology option chosen by the BSI allowed the organisation to get into using a digital marketplace with minimal investment.
