Dell's terrorist detector dumps US gun salesman

Dejected customer unable to buy laptop because of a penchant for weapons...

NEWS Dell has upset one of its customers by refusing to sell it laptop on the grounds that it sold guns. Weigand Co Combat Handguns put in an order for a Dell Inspiron laptop but found its order automatically cancelled only days later. Jack Weigand, who holds a federal firearms licence from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearm's National Licensing Center told Newsbytes: "If computers are dangerous, the scary thing here is that I could have just walked up to Best Buy and purchased one." Since 11 September the world's most popular PC company has had an order screening process in place to prevent sales to terrorists. The gun company received an apology from Dell but decided to take its business elsewhere.
