Apple boots out developer for being too young

'You have to be this high to go on this open source ride...'

NEWS Apple has kicked a developer out of its open source Darwin project because he is too young. Baby-faced Finlay Dobbie is 15 and Apple insists that the developers working on its Mac OSX code be at least 18 years old. The company disabled Dobbie's Apple Developer Connection account, which means he can't download new developer tools or participate any further in the Darwin project. It is thought that Apple's policy is in place to protect the company. Under US law a minor who enters into a contract could legally rescind on that contract once he or she passes the age of 18. He or she could then demand the rights to work he contributed to. Dobbie told US wires: "Their attitude seems to be the complete opposite of the open source attitude."
