CA sheds ebusiness division

Continues to move away from online apps...

NEWS Computer Associates (CA) has off-loaded its ebusiness applications division, Interbiz, to SSA Global Technologies as the company moves away from online applications. Kumar Sanjay, president and CEO at CA, said his company's strategy would be to focus on the markets it was strongest in such as storage, enterprise management, security and application development and integration. Over the past month, CA has been fighting off accusations that it is suffering cash flow problems following a downgrading by Moodys. CA's credit worthiness was further called into question last month when it announced it will sell off $600m worth of shares to help pay off some of its debts. The acquisition will give SSA Global Technologies much needed ERP applications to add to its portfolio of supply chain, financial and human resource management applications. The move forms just part of SSA's recent reinvention as an ebusiness-based company. Financial details were not disclosed. For related news, see:
