Commerce One customers reaping e-marketplace benefits

NEWS BAE Systems claims it has made savings of $15m by using Commerce One technology. The aerospace company - which has conducted over 80 auctions using the platform - also said it puts monthly purchasing transactions worth $85,000 through Exostar, the Commerce One-run aerospace and defence marketplace Eastman Chemical reported procurement savings of five to 15 per cent using Commerce One technology, and said it had made a 126 per cent return on its investment in 10 months. South African petrochemical producer Sasol - also a Commerce One customer - claimed a 40 per cent saving on its average procurement costs, and said it expects to save up to $10m in MRO purchases over the next five years.
