Ellison loses another lieutenant

Gone for a Burton...

NEWS Jeremy Burton, one of Larry Ellison's senior advisors, has left Oracle to become chief marketing officer of Veritas. Burton follows Gary Bloom, another former Ellison lieutenant, out of Oracle and in to the storage software company. Bloom left Oracle at in late 2000. The departure of Burton, a Brit who rose through the ranks at Oracle's Redwood Shores HQ, is understood to have been amicable.
