NEWS The boss of CRM giant Siebel says he's never seen IT directors so reluctant to spend money. Tom Siebel's comments came as the company unveiled quarterly results. Revenues for the three months 31 March 2002 were $448m compared to $599m a year ago. Profits were down from $76.9m to $64.6m. Siebel is quoted in this morning's FT as saying: "This was the worst IT capital spending environment in history... Customers consistently delayed capital spending, waiting for their business to improve."
