Prebble wobbles as ITV Digital falls down

Chief executive falls on sword...

NEWS The collapse of ITV Digital, the digital terrestrial TV company, saw its first major executive casualty yesterday when Stuart Prebble resigned as chief executive of ITV. Part of his role as the top man at ITV network centre was to run the now defunct channel. Prebble's departure follows the redundancy of 1,700 ITV Digital employees. These included 1,500 call centre staff as well as Rob Fyfe, ITV Digital's managing director. ITV Digital finally pulled the plug on its pay TV channels on Wednesday leaving 1.2 million subscribers in the lurch.
