Peregrine CEO and CFO quit over 'irregular' accounts

Another case of Enronitis

By Graham Hayday, 7 May 2002 09:00

NEWS Peregrine Systems has been struck by the resignations of its CEO and CFO, both of whom have departed following allegations of accounting irregularities. Its shares plummeted 65 per cent yesterday on the back of the news. The company - which, like Enron, was audited by Andersen - has now launched an internal enquiry. Rick Nelson, a board member, will replace Steve Gardner as chairman and CEO, while Fred Gerson, currently the CFO of the San Diego Pardres baseball team, will step into Matt Glass's shoes.
