NEWS The company that develops the software behind the Ananova digital newsreader, Digital Animations Group, has posted disappointing results after its revenues from the news service dipped. The company sold the rights to a share in revenue from the avatar last year to Orange for a lump sum, meaning its contract with the service earned it less than half the £1.5m it got last year. Overall Digital Animations Group posted a loss of £743,000 compared to a profit of £1.4m the previous year. However, the firm said it was developing new sources of revenue, such as the artificial presenter on the BBC's Tomorrow's World programme.
