Oracle to wield the jobs axe again

600 more to go...

NEWS

Oracle is set to make 600 more redundancies over the coming weeks if it is to reach its target of trimming its ranks by between one and two per cent.

Last week the company laid off 200 workers from its Silicon Valley-based CRM development centre.

Oracle claimed the positions became redundant due to the restructuring of its applications business.

However, a further 600 are required if the company is to make the savings it needs.

Analysts predict Oracle could save between $48m to $95m by cutting up to two per cent of its workforce.
