AXA goes with Ariba

A little insurance...

NEWS Online procurement specialist, Ariba, has picked up a contract to provide insurance giant AXA with an enterprise spend management system that will be rolled out across 2,000 desktops. The system will allow the French subsidiary of the insurance firm to link up with 560 suppliers and 100 catalogues. It will also involve 100 global agreements. In a statement Catherine Aragon, vice-president of procurement, AXA France Assurance said: "The Ariba solution has allowed us to fulfil two key objectives; the group of companies can order online based on terms established in globally negotiated contracts and we can create reliable reports detailing who is buying a particular product in a specific location." Ariba hopes to persuade AXA to rollout the system throughout the insurance group. No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
