Autonomy scoops Italian e-learning win

NEWS Autonomy has won a contract with Telecom Italia to supply the technology that will underpin the telco's e-learning network. The deal, worth about £1.9m according to this morning's FT, will allow learning materials - whether text-, voice- or video-based - to be brought together, categorised and personalised through a corporate portal. Autonomy's Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) is the technology that makes this possible, and depends on sets of mathematical algorithms that make sure different types of data can be associated with each other.
