Cisco man tries on a Red Hat

And likes the way it looks... superflying onto the board...

NEWS Edward Kozel, managing director of International Finance and Cisco's former chief technology officer and head of business development, has joined the board of Linux seller Red Hat.

Kozel is also a board member of Reuters, Symbol Technologies and Yahoo!.

The election to the board was effective 1 October, Red Hat announced yesterday.

Last month the Linux vendor announced Charles Peters as its new CFO.

Peters boasts 20 years' experience in public companies, most recently as CFO of multinational Burlington Industries.
