The technical preview of Microsoft's upcoming office suite isn't set for release until July. But it made its way onto the web, apparently on Friday.
silicon.com sister site ZDNet Australia captured screenshots of the build by installing the leaked preview in a virtualised VMware instance on top of Windows XP Service Pack 3.
In this picture, it shows how Office has grown over the years to encompass much more than just the standard suite of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Oh well. A set of photos. It's fine but for me the big issue with office is usability.
The interface has improved with 2007 but boy! It can just wander off and ignore you for minutes on end! Outlook wants to send or receive an eamil and for anything from 10 seconds to 5 minutes things just clog up.
An average 30 second delay every time you send an email, receive an email or other mysterious causes. It is now the main thing that ruins the experience.
Will 2010 address this? I do hope that ZDNET can help with some real indepedent reporting for this issue.

Microsoft hasn't got Office 2007 working properly yet! Is Microsoft expecting it's customers to shell out even more money before Office 2007 is working as it was designed to? Document preview in word still isn’t working, just one example.

I wonder if they'll be sensible and allow users the option of using the Office 2003 style toolbars.
