Internet Explorer's share of the global browser market has dropped again, according to new research, falling from 67 per cent in August to 65.7 per cent in September.
All of the Microsoft browser's main competitors - Firefox, Apple's Safari, Google Chrome and Opera - increased their share over the same period, according to web tracker Net Applications.

Mozilla's Firefox engine has been gaining on IE since its first version was released five years. In August Mozilla announced the open source browser had surpassed one billion downloads.
