The Next Generation Progress in Core Banking Technology
Category: Professions and Industries, Software and Web Development, IT Management
Tags: legacy systems, outsourced, back office
Overview Core banking technology appears to be on the cusp of a new era. C-suite executives express reservations about the capacity of their systems to support growth, and the back office appears to be in greatest need of transformation. CIOs believe that they are up for the challenge, especially given their ability to overcome gaps in legacy systems through service-oriented architecture. At the same time, modular architecture is enabling CIOs to replace the weakest components on a selective basis, either as an application on top of the legacy layer, as an entirely new module, or as a task to be outsourced. Some CIOs believe that this selective approach to IT investments will lead to greater cost efficiency and a renewed emphasis on strategy.
