STP Optimizes Its Logistics Flow With Real-Time RFID Tracking System
Category: Software and Web Development, Desktops, Laptops and OS
Tags: rfid, paris, pcs, real-time, applications
Overview Specializing in the sorting and distribution of 3.5 million printed magazine issues throughout France, the Societe de Traitement de Presse (STP) is a fully-owned subsidiary of the French postal service, La Poste. STP must ensure that it efficiently and effectively manages its 16,000 containers. It previously used paper-based processes to track the movement of wooden pallets through its supply chain. However, this method was time consuming and prone to error. To address this challenge, STP worked with partner Athelia to implement a set of real-time applications developed using the Microsoft .NET Framework. These logistics applications function on satellite-borne terminals, PCs, and remote servers at four warehouse platforms located in the Paris region, which are connected by a high-speed system.
