Utilizing SIMD Instructions on the INtime RTOS With the Intel IPP Library

Overview Applying DSPs (Digital Signal Processors) to real-time embedded systems can result in significant performance improvements, especially where complex mathematical algorithms are involved. Algorithms that perform repetitive operations on large data sets are particularly well suited to the application of DSPs. The data to be transformed can be collected and processed in bulk or it can be continuously streamed (sampled) data that must be processed in a finite period of time to generate a real-time control signal. Motion control, image processing, speech recognition, and computer vision applications are some of the many applications that can benefit from the application of DSP hardware.
