Performance Tuning Siebel Software on the Sun Platform

Overview This paper discusses the performance optimization of a complete Siebel enterprise solution on the Sun platform. The paper covers tuning for the Solaris Operating System, Siebel software, Oracle database server, Sun StorEdge products, and Sun Java System Web Server. It also discusses unique features of the Solaris OS that reduce risk while helping to improve the performance and stability of Siebel applications. All of the techniques described here are lessons learned from a series of performance tuning studies that were conducted under the auspices of the Siebel Platform Sizing and Performance Program (PSPP).
