Oracle Database 10g Recovery Manager

Overview Oracle Recovery MANager (RMAN) is a tool integrated into the Oracle Database that is designed to work intimately with the server, providing block-level corruption detection during backup and restore. In addition, RMAN out-of-the-box is integrated with leading tape media management products via the supplied Media Management Library (MML) API, so that Oracle database backups can be made directly to disk or tape. RMAN continues to mature with each new release and the revolutionary technological advances included in Oracle Database 10g will provide the simple, reliable, and automatic recovery tool that one has been waiting for. This paper presents the new Oracle Database 10g features that simplify the implementation and on-going maintenance of the Oracle data protection strategy.
