Overview Operating internationally as the central institute for 123 Sparkassen in Nordrhein-Westfalen and Brandenburg, WestLB serves as a link to financial markets worldwide. The company wanted to reduce costs by replacing the host and implementing state of the art technology. They were challenged to achieve faster response time and solve network issues and achieve higher availability and provide fail-safe systems. WestLB implemented Oracle Database with Real Application Clusters on Linux, creating a 50GB database capable of handling 2,400 transactions per second.
