Overview With Backup Exec 10d for Windows Servers, Symantec introduces a new agent for protecting Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) installations. Per Microsoft, System Center Data Protection Manager is designed to provide customers with rapid disk-based recovery without complexities associated with traditional tape backup. DPM, when used in conjunction with Symantec Backup Exec, allows customers to extend the award winning backup and restore capabilities of Backup Exec to servers and data protected by Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager. Administrators can use the standard Backup Exec Administration console to browse DPM data to include in a new or existing backup job.
