Overview To 'Design, build, deploy and run' a data warehouse as a service has been almost completely constrained by the fact that it has been too costly to undertake these activities and create data warehouses on a consistent and profitable basis. The process of building any analytical data warehouse has involved a fairly rigid process incorporating all four of these activities, plus a significant ETL and business analytics exercise. The major constraint in offering Data warehousing as a Service (DaaS) lies in the complexity, cost and time delays incurred in the execution of those activities. This process is often repeated for any upgrades and changes and hence constrains any thoughts of running a cost-effective data service.
