Overview Elmhurst College runs 23 Linux and Windows-based computer servers to support its campus of 3300 students and faculty near Chicago, Illinois. When they did network backup, it was not a true network backup. They were doing disk-to-disk backups with Snap Servers, but this was not a very clever network backup solution. To overcome these challenges, Elmhurst sought out a more comprehensive and reliable network backup solution that supported offsite archiving, multiple operating systems and more affordable server licensing. Elmhurst College selected a Revinetix Sentio 2000 backup appliance, a 2U rackmount model offering up to 1.5TB of raw data capacity and client-side compression to increase capacity to up to 3TB.
