Category: Data Management

Tags: start-up, fda, data

Overview A Gartner business case for standards has identified the benefit of applying data standards in the start-up stage of clinical research studies to be in the range of 70-90% reduction in time and resources. These business case results reinforce the value of building quality in at the beginning and the need for case report form standards that will streamline the flow of data to meet downstream reporting and analysis requirements. The CDISC-led Clinical Data Acquisition Standards Harmonization (CDASH) initiative is a response to the FDA Critical Path Initiative. CDASH is focused on producing a set of consensus-based content standards based upon the CRF results reporting standard, the CDISC SDTM. This webcast provides a thorough status report of the CDASH initiative.
