MetService Boosts Weather Forecast Accuracy and Competitive Edge With New Database
Category: Data Management
Overview Headquartered in Wellington, New Zealand and created in 1992 as a state-owned enterprise, MetService provides weather and information presentation services to customers around the world. To improve the accuracy, performance and complexity of products delivered to clients in New Zealand and worldwide, MetService has upgraded to Oracle Database 11g. Implementing Oracle Database 11g has enabled MetService to confirm that the accuracy of its products exceeds that of raw data provided by international weather services. MetService can now manage storage and querying of large datasets more efficiently; migrate large clients onto a more robust and scalable platform; and define regions for forecasting and information using database queries.
