Medical Transcription Software Speeds Documentation, Eliminates Errors

Overview Daniel Gaskin is a software developer first, but "Entrepreneur" comes in a close second. After being approached by a medical transcription firm in Sarasota, Florida (MedLite, Inc.), to automate its transcription processing and distribution, Gaskin examined the company's operations and a light bulb came on: Use Microsoft Office Word 2003. A Word-based solution had the potential to minimize the effort required to assure quality documentation. Two years later, Gaskin's "TranMan" software solution is the backbone of MedLite. Gaskin formed his own company, TransTec Solutions, and now plans to market TranMan to the U.S.$20-billion-plus medical transcription software market.
