Dairy Farm Completes Major Infrastructure Upgrade, Reduces Maintenance Costs by 70%

Overview Dairy Farm is a leading pan-Asian retailer, operating more than 4,300 outlets including supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores, health and beauty outlets, home furnishing stores, and restaurants. Dairy Farm was faced with a challenge. It needed to reduce IT infrastructure costs and replace an ageing Oracle application and database infrastructure, but did not have the in-house skills or manpower to manage the project. Dairy Farm turned to the Oracle Advanced Customer Services (ACS) team to help the company move to Oracle E-Business Suite 11i and upgrade to Oracle Database 10g. The Oracle team also shifted Dairy Farm's IT infrastructure from the HP-UX Unix operating system to the more cost-effective Novell SuSe Linux Enterprise Server 9.
