Overview In line with UK government targets to provide electronic services, the London Borough of Lewisham has introduced a solution that enables its tax inspectors to efficiently collect information from the field. Using Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 forms, data is easily shared between Microsoft Windows Tablet PC Edition mobile devices and the Council's back-office systems. Inspectors are more productive and can increase the proportion of their day spent visiting homes from 50 to 80 per cent. Automated data transfer ensures information is accurate and cuts the cost of each field visit by 30 per cent. Applications can be processed in one hour, rather than 48, supporting the Council's strategy to improve customer service.
