Overview This white paper describes the real-time capabilities provided by SGI REACT Real-Time for Linux software. REACT enables SGI Linux-based system platforms to deliver Hard Real-Time (HRT) capabilities including an interrupt response time of 30us or less. A brief review of current real-time Linux capabilities, a description of typical real-time applications, and a comparison of SGI real-time capabilities for Linux versus IRIX are also included.
