Overview American Industries (AI) wanted to implement a unified IT infrastructure to extend visibility of consistent financial information throughout the organization and centralize financial data to make up-to-date information available online for quick decision making. The challenge was to standardize business rules between the shelter operation and the real estate unit to maximize productivity in both and consolidate and automate procedures for account closing, purchases, billing, and collections in the two units to reduce general operating costs. AI created an integrated applications infrastructure with Oracle E-Business Suite, extending visibility of secure, consistent financial information throughout the organization and implemented Oracle Database Standard Edition, centralizing up-to-date information online and facilitating quick decision making.
